Endeavour - Tasking System
Endeavour uses the familiar browser based presentation and innovative Corvus infrastructure. The application can be used as a standalone system or linked to other Corvus modules (and external applications) for enhanced functionality. For example, Tasking can be seamlessly integrated with Briefing, Intelligence or Duty Management. Tasking can also utilise the Corvus Information Report feature to simplify the process of capturing new data and associating this information with entries in the Corvus Single Enterprise View repository. The underlying data model supports a number of tasking levels grouped around the concept of operations, tasks and objectives. The exact naming conventions and configuration can be altered to suit specific requirements. In common with other Bluestar products, high performance and reliability come as standard. The user interface employed by Endeavour follows the familiar Corvus style with navigational buttons, icon links, list boxes and calendar controls. As for the rest of the Corvus suite, the user can specify the exact configuration.
Endeavour uses APIs to access related information, for example to link to the organisational structure or address details. In all cases these can be integrated with standard Corvus products or utilise an existing application. Task information can include complex data such as images and documents maintained using the standard attachment manager utility. In addition, a variety of messages can be linked to the task to allow useful news, intelligence and other information to be disseminated. |

Task Creation During the process of task creation, users can select from any number of common predefined templates within the tasking library. A task can be edited and refined over a period of time before being assigned to a user, group of officers or role and then activated. Once a task is activated, it becomes visible to the assigned personnel. Area level tasks are automatically included as part of the briefing process (where this module is used) whilst individual and group tasks appear on the relevant users home page. All task displays use a variety of icons to indicate when the information was last updated. Task Progress & Debriefing As the task is progressed, individual users may submit a variety of information, including arrests made, penalty notices issued, property recovered and time spent. This type of information can be combined with partner involvement to produce comprehensive debriefing details. Tasks are assigned a simple colour coding to indicate whether the specified end date is on target (green), near target (amber) or has passed (red). Once all objectives have been completed, the task itself may be closed. At this point the system may be configured to capture mandatory or optional information.
